Metrocall has finalized its purchase of substantially all of the operating assets of Dallas-based WebLink Wireless Inc. and several of its subsidiaries originally announced in November 2003. Pursuant to the terms of their Asset Purchase Agreement, Metrocall had previously acquired WebLink's advanced one-way and two-way messaging networks. The FCC recently approved the assignment of WebLink's FCC licenses and spectrum rights to Metrocall, and, the parties have now consummated that final step in the acquisition of WebLink's wireless operations. This was a natural and seamless evolution in the long-standing strategic relationship between the two companies that enhances Metrocall's established position as a wireless industry leader by combining the wholesale-based messaging assets of WebLink with Metrocall's comprehensive portfolio of paging products and other wireless connectivity solutions.
